This two-part session explores listening as embodied practice and the transition from listening to sound creation through the body.

這個由兩個階段所組成的 session,將探索「聆聽」作為一種身體性的實踐,以及從「聆聽」到透過身體進行聲音創作的轉換過程。

SESSION I — Listening or Hearing?

Opens terrain through questions: listening vs hearing, body vs algorithm, inhabiting vs decoding. Sound already present — no imposed silence. No performance, no technical skills required.


第一場 — 聆聽或聽見?

透過一連串提問開啟探索:聆聽與聽見、身體與演算法、置身其中與解讀之間的差異。聲音其實早已存在——不需要刻意製造安靜。不需要刻意演出,也不需要任何技術或專業背景。

SESSION 2 — Evolution: Transformation, Gesture, Repetition, Trace

Session 2 builds directly on Session 1 and is open only to those who participated in the first session (2 hours / 120 min).

Focuses on gesture, repetition, and transformation of materials gathered in Session 1.

Session 2 emphasizes repetition as a living process — sound changes through practice and sustained attention. The session opens toward autonomous creative practice rather than concluding with a finished result.


第二場 — 演化:轉化、姿態、重複、痕跡

第二場次直接延續第一場的內容,僅開放給參與過第一場的人參加(2小時 / 120分鐘)。

內容將聚焦於動作(gesture)、重複(repetition),以及對第一場次中所收集素材的轉化。

第二場次強調「重複」作為一種活的過程——聲音會在持續的練習與專注中不斷變化。本場的目標並不是產出一個完成的結果,而是引導參與者朝向自主的創作實踐。

The material must be submitted at least two weeks before Session 1.

Why submit this material?
為何需要提交這些資料?

This is not an exam or technical evaluation. The material you provide is an exercise that allows us to:

  • Get to know each other through sound rather than words
  • Create a shared sonic space for Session 1
  • Practice the core purpose of listening and attention
  • Make Session 2 more engaging and personally meaningful

The material expresses what words cannot fully convey. It is your way of being present before we meet.

Submitting this material is required to participate, as it forms the foundation of our collective inquiry.

How to submit
如何提交

Place all materials in one folder named (Zip): Last name – First name (using romanized names from Section 2).

請將所有資料放入一個資料夾,命名為:姓 – 名(使用第二部分的拼音姓名)。

Required Content
必須包含的內容

  • 1. 2-3 audio recordings
  • Duration: 15 to 30 seconds.
  • Use your phone’s recording app
  • Record a sound of your choice—it must not be from a traditional or electronic musical instrument
  • Audio quality is not important as long as what you recorded is audible
  • No intelligible conversations should be audible in the recording (background voices are acceptable)
  • Interior or exterior sounds are welcome

1. 2 至 3 段錄音

  • 長度:15 至 30 秒
  • 使用手機錄音應用程式
  • 錄製您選擇的聲音——不得為傳統或電子樂器發出的聲音
  • 音質不重要,只要錄製的內容清晰可聽即可
  • 錄音中不應有清楚可辨的對話(背景人聲可接受)
  • 室內或室外聲音皆可

2. Recording details (written in a text file)

  • Day of the week and time of recording (morning / afternoon / evening)
  • Emotional state (tired, happy, upset, in love, etc.)
  • Whether the experience was pleasant, surprising, or linked to a memory

These details are for reference only. No long text is required — simple information is sufficient.


2. 錄音資訊(文字檔)

  • 錄音的星期與時間(早上/下午/晚上)
  • 當時的情緒狀態(疲累、開心、煩躁、戀愛中等)
  • 此經驗的性質(愉快、令人驚喜、與回憶相關等)

以上資訊僅供參考,無需撰寫長篇文字,只需提供簡單資訊即可。

3. One photo

  • Photo of the sound source or recording location
  • Example: if the sound comes from a coffee machine, take a photo of the coffee machine — perfect!
  • Photo quality is not important as long as it is identifiable

3. 一張照片

  • 拍攝錄音地點
  • 例如:若聲音來自咖啡機,請拍攝該咖啡機——完美!
  • 照片品質不重要,只要能辨識即可

Folder structure example :
